The past two months have been a blur; as usual. We took on some major home renovations while at the same time finishing up a commercial space build out for a new tenant that we will be handing the keys over to next Monday. Two days before we leave. Cutting it really close there were lots of 12 hour days and lost weekends in preparation for all this to come together. I think we work best under extreme stress and a ridiculous deadline! Self imposed of course. But the work got done and unless something out of our control happens between now and Wednesday we are outa here and on our way to our first real goal; Nashville. Will stop somewhere for the night on the way there. Looks like the weather might cooperate and not be frigid. That's all we ask until we get far enough south where it is decent enough to head west. Thinking Interstate 40, the old Route 66.
It has been fun cleaning and packing the motorhome that we have not used in almost two years. We had to review all the systems and tomorrow taking it to the people who can get the back up camera working again. Had it in the shop and they went over everything so hopefully nothing will go wrong. It only has 14,000 miles on it but who knows?
Dave is pretty excited and this will be a good diversion for him until boating season starts. I know this won't be the challenge that the Great Loop was but hopefully a worthwhile adventure. We need to be in LA by March 1 to fly to Mexico for the Nat Geo trip so we will have to haul ass out there. The real road trip sightseeing will have to be the trip home.
So excited and trying to ignore the cold and ear ache that I feel coming on. NO!!!! Not now!
